Definition and Scope of Practice
Natural medical physicians are general practitioners trained as specialists in natural medicines. In practice, natural medical physicians perform physical examinations, laboratory testing, gynecological exams, nutritional and dietary assessments, metabolic analysis, and allergy testing. They may order x-ray, ultrasounds, other imaging procedures, and other diagnostic tests. They are primary care physicians clinically trained in the use in the following wide variety of natural therapeutics:

Clinical Nutrition
Natural medical physicians understand that what you eat is the basis for your health. Adopting a healthy diet is often the first step towards correcting health problems. Many medical conditions can be treated more effectively with foods and nutritional supplements than they can by other means, but with fewer complications and side effects. Naturopathic physicians may use specific individual diets, fasting, and nutritional supplements with their patients.
Botanical Medicine & Pharmacognosy
Plants have healing properties known since the age of man and was one of the first forms of medicine. Many pharmaceutical drugs have their origins in plant substances. Natural medical physicians use plant substances for their healing effects and nutritional values.
Homeopathic Medicine
This gentle yet effective system of medicine is more than 200 years old and is based on the principle that Like cures like. Homeopathic medicines are very small doses of natural substances that can stimulate the body’s self-healing response without side effects. Some conditions for which conventional medicine has no effective treatments will respond well to homeopathy.
Physical Medicines
Natural medicine includes methods of therapeutic manipulation of skin, muscles and bones. Natural medical physicians employ therapeutic exercise, massage, hydrotherapy, electrotherapies, ultrasound, balneotherapies, and applications heat and cold.
Oriental Medicines
Natural medical physicians are trained in the fundamentals of oriental medicine and diagnosis. They use acupuncture, acupressure, and Chinese herbal medicine to promote healing.
Lifestyle Counseling and Stress Management
Mental attitudes and emotional states are important elements in healing and disease. Natural medical physicians are trained in counseling, nutritional balancing, stress management, hypnotherapy, and biofeedback. They also attend to environmental and lifestyle factors that affect their patients health.
Natural Childbirth
Natural medical physicians, with additional specialty training, provide natural childbirth care in an out-of-hospital setting. They offer prenatal and postnatal care using appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic techniques.
Minor Surgery
As primary care physicians, Natural medical physicians performs in-office minor surgery including repair of superficial wounds and removal of foreign bodies, warts and cysts with local anesthesia.
Trauma Medicine
Natural medical physicians, with additional specialty training, can provide conventional first aid.
CRITERIA FOR REGISTRATION- (Doctors/physicains of natural medicine)
There are two levels of registration for doctors/physicians of Natural Medicine:
Level I
DOCTOR MEDICINA NATURALIS TM, DNM: Doctor of Natural Medicines.
A medical, chiropractic, osteopathic or naturopathic professional with a minimum of 4,000 clock hours of training and clinical experience. All applicants who have not taken and passed successfully an independent board examination (MD, DC, DO, ND, etc.), as approved by CASHA, must complete WONMP-CASHA online basic medical sciences exams, levels 1-5 (1. Human Anatomy, 2. chemistry and physiology; 3. pathology; 4. clinical pathology; and 5. medical sciences) within their first year of membership.
Level II
DOCTOR MEDICINAE MISSIONIS TM, DMM: Doctor of Missionary Medicines
Reserved for qualified physicians who perform serviceable and charitable acts of emergency and relief assistance to disaster zones, areas of poverty, etc. There is also a special honorary registration - DOCTOR MEDICINAE MISSIONIS et HOSPITALIS, for members of the Order Knights Hospitaller.
Upon registry, applicant recieves a Certificate suitable for framing.
CRITERIA FOR REGISTRATION- (Therapists of natural medicine)
TERAPISTA MEDICINA NATURALIS TM, TNM: Therapist of Natural Medicines. Applicant must have at least 2,000 clock hours of medical/paramedical training and clinical experience. All applicants must complete WONMP-CASHA online basic medical sciences exams, levels 1-2 (1. Human Anatomy, 2. chemistry and physiology) within their first year of membership.
Certificate issued upon registry.

WONMP approves and provides referral to educational institutions and programs to upgrade practitioners, in order to meet the requirements for registration and continued competency.
